You have had a bank account for a few years. Recently you received a letter from the Bank stating that your account is $240 overdrawn and that you will be charged $70 which will be taken directly from your account. You know that this information is incorrect.
Write a letter to the bank. Explain what has happened and say what you
would like them to do about it.

Dear Sir,
I am writing this letter in reference to clarify on a letter which I received from the bank in which $240 is overdrawn and thus as a penalty, the bank will be debiting $70 from my account. As you are aware that I am holding a saving bank account with AZ bank for the past fifteen years and I can say that it has been a privilege to be your customer.

The information which I received from the bank is incorrect. To elucidate last week I went to the banking kiosk to withdraw money and instead of debiting $240 from my account only once, the machine debited the money twice as the machine looked faulty. I informed the bank immediately of this transaction and they assured to have taken note of my request. Subsequently, they advised that the $240 would be credited back into my account within 48 hours which has not happened till now.

Hence I would request you to resolve this matter and credit back $240 in my bank account immediately.

I look forward to your immediate resolution on the same.
Yours sincerely
Ben
