You have had a bank account for a few years. Recently you received a letter from the bank stating that your account is 240 dollars overdrawn and that you will be charged 70 dollars which will be taken directly from your account. You know that this information is incorrect.
Write a letter to the bank. Explain what has happened and say what you would like them to do about it.

Dear Sir,

I am writing this letter to with regards to the communication I have received from the bank recently, which has mentioned that I will be charged with the amount of 70 dollars for the overdrawn money of 240 dollars. However, I would request you there is a mistake on the transaction.

As you might be aware that I have changed my accommodation this month and informed the bank also, so that owner of the previous house should not take the money from my account directly, which is exactly 240 dollars. However, I would request you to further verify the transaction so that I can request my previous owner to return back the money.

Moreover, please create the link between my new owner’s account and my account so that the transaction can be carried out easily. Later after your response, I will communicate with my previous room owner to return the amount in my same account.

I look forward to receive your response.

Yours faithfully,
Vishal Bhat
