You have just received a credit card statement from your bank. The statement lists a number of expensive purchases that you are sure you did not make.
Write a letter to the bank manager. In the letter:
• Introduce yourself.
• Explain that you did not buy the items listed.
• Say what you would like the bank to do to fix the problem.
You do not need to write any addresses. Begin your letter as follows:
Dear Sir or Madam,
Dear Sir or Madam,
I am just writing to inform you about an incorrect statement that has been sent to me last week. It is obvious that some transactions listed in the statement are not made my me because I was not in Australia during the time of purchases.
My name is Nam Vu who has been a long-term Commonwealth Bank’s customer for the last 5 years since the bank account being created. You can easily check my personal details according to my address: 35 Main St, Thomastown, Vic 3074.
Indeed, I did not make the purchases of a luxury sauna suite and a Dell laptop because I had been overseas from 12th June to 15th September. However, they were bought on 20th August, the date appears in the statement. In addition, whilst going out of the country, I did bring the credit card along, but no purchase is made by the card or net bank services.
Personally, I am certainly sure that it should be due to a scam or hacking. Hence, I hope you can investigate the case, so that produce a refund to my balance as well as take proper prevention to any further occurrences. By the way, you can directly reach me via my phone number showed in my account for any necessary evidence.
Your faithfully,
Nam Vu
