You have seen an advertisement in an Australian magazine for someone to live with a family for six months and look after their six-year-old child. Write a letter to the parents. In your letter
- explain why you would like the job.
- Give details of why you would be a suitable person to employ.
- say how you would spend your free time while you are in Australia.
Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing in response to the advert published in an Australian magazine for the need of a babysitter of six-year-old. Accordingly, I would like to apply for this temporary position.
As for the reason why I would like this job, I am currently looking for opportunities to do some voluntary work and doing so, in Australia would be a wonderful opportunity for me. Apart from this, I have previous experience of taking care of kids and spending time with them was very rewarding to me.
With regards to the details of being a suitable candidate for this position, I am really patient, tidy, reliable and hard-working, and I would be happy to give a reference of the family where I babysat. In addition to this, I have recently completed first-aid training and would be able to provide support in case of an emergency.
As far as spending my leisure time is concerned, I would learn and practice advanced English while living with native speakers like you. Another option, which I would consider while being in Australia is to join any sports club to keep myself upbeat and to widen my social circle by making new friends.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Yours faithfully,
Ell
