You have seen an advertisement in an Australian magazine for someone to live with a family for six months and look after their six-year old child.
Write a letter to the parents. In your letter-
- Explain why you would like the job
- Give details of why you would be suitable person to employ
- Say how you would spend your free time while you are in Australia

Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing this letter in connection to the advertisement published in Times of Australia magazine for the requirement of a baby-sitter.
While I am in Sydney for my 6 month’s post-graduate program, I am looking out for temporary work which can keep me engaged and pay me for my expenses. I always love playing around with toddlers and I believe they are fond of my company very much and that’s why I am interested to take up this role with your family and would want to take care of your offspring.
I have already done similar jobs and hold professional experience from schools. Last year, during my graduation course I did similar part time job in Melbourne where I was teaching pre-school kids with various brain storming activities and encouraging them to learn alphabets through various puzzles, crosswords and other games. Hence I can be a right match for the kind of person you will be looking to baby-sit for your child.
During my leisure time, I would be interested to visit some amazing places in and around Sydney. I think The Lotus Mall is very well known for its architectural master piece and I really excited to witness the beauty soon. Your suggestions will be appreciated for the place that are worth exploring in the vicinity.
Looking forward to hearing back soon with your confirmation for the job.
Yours faithfully,
James
