You received a letter from a friend who asked for a recommendation letter from you for the job that he/she is applying for. Write a letter to the manager:
• explain how well you know this person
• describe how this person work
• why you think this person is suitable for the job.
Dear Sir,
I am writing in reference to recommend a friend of mine who has applied for the position of Senior Engineer at our company. Let me explain in detail.
To elucidate I know Beck from the past 10 years from our graduation days in the University of Plymouth. Additionally, we also got placed in the same telecommunication firm when we started our professional journey. So my engagement with him has been not only on the personal front but also on the professional side. Although we are looking to hire a junior candidate for the advertised role however I believe Beck will be a perfect fit. The pivotal reason being the hard work and persistence with which he carries out all the tasks assigned to him. Additionally, he is a team player rather than an individual contributor and certainly tries to share knowledge with his peers. For your information, he was awarded the best employee of the year award in his previous firm.
Lastly, I think Beck is the right fit for this role due to international exposure with customers in the Asia Pacific market. Additionally, he has extensive knowledge of designing networks, doing link budgets analysis and preparing techno-commercial proposals which can help us not only in preparing quality proposals to customers but also in winning more clients from the competition.
I look forward to your response and consideration.
Yours sincerely
