You recently finished studying at a university in another country where you shared a
house with a fellow student. Something urgent came up while your housemate was
away on a short trip and you had to leave without saying goodbye.
Write to your housemate. In your letter
• Apologise for leaving without saying goodbye
• Explain why you have to leave
Dear John,
I hope you are well and enjoyed your trip to Australia.
I am writing to apologize for leaving the house without saying goodbye when you were on a trip. I did not want to bother you by making a phone call or sending an email during your journey. It was a great experience for me sharing a house with a friend like you. Not only you were a conscientious housemate but also I have learnt an incredible amount from you.
Unfortunately my mom had a terrible accident on 21th of July and I had to came back home immidiately. I was in such a hurry that even forgot to leave you a message at home or making a phone call. She had an operation and she is healing gradually but since there is no one who can take care of her I had to stay here. I will transfer the last month's rent To your bank account and hope you will pay it to the landloard.
I wish you accept my appology and hope to see you soon.
Love,
Rahi
