You recently received a letter from a friend asking for advice about whether to go to college or to try to get a job. You think he/she should get a job.
Write a letter to this friend. In your letter:
- Say why he/she would not enjoy going to college
- Explain why getting a job is a good idea for him/her
- Suggest types of job that would be suitable for him/her

Dear Anna,
I’m writing in reply to your letter asking for advice about your choice for going to the university or finding a job.
In my opinion, It’s difficult for you to continue studying because the tuition fee for four years at college is expensive. Not to mention, you have to pay for living expenses. Furthermore, the curriculum is full of theory and lacks practical activities so you will lack skills and hand on experiences.
However, if you get a job, you will make a living and take care of yourself. You can also gain a lot of real-life experience to learn how to deal with problem stress. Besides, you can widen our relationship with people who have a lot of experience and many successes in their life.
I know that you are a careful person, so you should work as a cashier at a coffee shop, a clothes store or a supermarket. So if you like, I strongly recommend that you can apply for a coffee shop. The café is cozy with a green space near my house.
I would very much like to know if this was helpful.
Best friend,
Tram.
