Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing to express my interest in volunteering for the annual “Senior Citizens Tech Roundup”, based on the advertisement in the Daily Times on October 16.
As someone with elderly parents living by themselves, I fully understand how much their generation can struggle with the use of technology, especially smartphones and basic internet usage. At the same time, I have first hand experience knowing the joys it brings to them to be able to stay connected with their family and loved ones through technology.
I am a computer engineer by profession and have been involved in similar initiatives in the past as well, most notably the “Internet made easy” that was run by Amazon last year to spread awareness among rural communities regarding technology.
I believe that my talents and experience can be best utilized doing hands on demonstrations for the residents of the community homes. I can help with creating and printing out handouts with useful tips and resources for follow up as well.
I would greatly appreciate the chance to be involved in this charitable endeavour.
Yours faithfully,
John Doe
