Last month you had an overseas holiday with some friends where you stayed at their house. They have just sent you some holiday photos.
Write a letter to your friends. In your letter:
Thank them for the holiday and the photos
Explain why you didn't write earlier
Invite them to come and stay with you

Hi Tom and Emily,

Just received the pictures from last months’ trip and I’ve to say they look fabulous. They brought back all the wonderful memories of the time spent with you guys at Tom’s house.

I’m truly thankful for your hospitality and for sending the lovely pictures. I had an absolute blast during my time down under with both of you and couldn’t have hoped for a better overseas vacation.

I’m sorry I couldn’t write to you earlier. I was tied up with the work project I’d talked to you about. The deadline ended up being brought forward and as a result I have been really busy these past couple of weeks.

My birthday is coming up next month and I will be delighted if you could come over and celebrate it with me. This will also be a good opportunity for you to enjoy some milder weather as I know it is quite hot in Australia right now. Of course, I insist that you stay with us, there is plenty of room and it will make me really happy to host you.

Best wishes,
John Doe
