In your letter
- Apologize,
- Explain the situation,
- Tell him what he can do with the extra ticket.
Dear Jane,
I hope so you are well and enjoying good health. I know that this Friday we have to go theater for watching a movie but due to unforeseen conditions I won’t be able to come with you so please apologize for the same.
Actually, I was very excited to come with you for theater this Friday but because of the sudden death of my relative have changed our plan. My maternal uncle met with a fatal accident in spite of a good cure by doctors for two days he died. Suddenly, the departure of his soul made us sad. As part of religious rituals, I can’t go anywhere for twelve days.
I know that you had bought two tickets so better I would suggest you go to a theater. I also advise you that you should take our school friend Jack along with you on my ticket so you won’t feel alone but you will cherish the moments together.
Yours Lovingly,
XYZ
