3. Describe the possible effects on local people if the centre closes.
Dear sir/ Madam,
This is with reference to a crucial decision taken by our local council during the general body meeting conducted by last month, towards closing down our much utilized sports and leisure centre citing the maintenance concern.
We, herewith would like to bring to your notice various positive aspects contributed by the presence of this centre and why the idea to demolish the building need to be thought over again. The matter of the fact that the centre is extensively utilized by all the community people including my family and friends cannot be just ruled out. Apart from the sports activity, various other entertainment programmes including cultural activities are being conducted at our centre which gives a zeal of enthusiasm and happiness to the people of society. Hence, building a uniformity and coordination among the community.
Moreover, this being self-financed centre, with the income gained from the conducted programme through outsourcing, we manage to gain profit in terms of money collection which is fully utilized in the welfare activities of our society and common amenities.
We foresee that in event of closure of the centre, the people shall not be motivated toward building their child’s and their own capacity towards the sports and other extra-curricular activities like arts. Also other community centres are either too costly or not approachable easily. Eventually, the society shall never be happening as before with low enthusiasm among the local people.
Considering to all the above facts, I request you to once again discuss on this matter prior to finalization of your decision to avert regretting later. We are expecting a positive approach and support from you.
Thanks and regards,
Umesh nair
