Your local council has decided to close the only park in your town and build a car park in its place. You believe this will have a bad effect on the people who live and work in the town.
Write a letter to the mayor. In your letter
• introduce yourself
• explain why you think the decision is wrong
• say what you think the council should do instead
Dear Sir,
My name is John Carberry and I live at sector - 40, Gurgaon since 2010. As I have been residing in this sector for quite a long time, I know about each and every place of this area such as parks, market and community center. I am an engineer by profession and works with an information technology multinational company which is located in New Delhi.
Last month, I was informed by my neighbors that local authorities have taken the decision to replace a public family park with a car parking area. I personally believe that public parks are more important because it provides us fresh oxygen and a peaceful place to spend some quality time. Moreover, it gives the opportunity to children and elders to meet and greet people from different cultures. Thus, it seems to be the wrong decision to close the public park.
I would like to request you to reverse this decision of closing the public park, you should raise awareness about not to buy new cars instead. By doing this, the number of cars in our locality will not rise and there would be fewer vehicles and less noise pollution. Please take action immediately to stop park removal.
I am looking forward to hearing from you as soon as possible.
Yours sincerely,
Jay Larosa
