Essay topics:

In the modern world, schools are no longer necessary because there is so much information available through the internet that children can study just as well at home. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

The internet, with its vast information, nowadays plays such a significant role in our modern society. Children benefit much from this, especially when they require effective studying at home. Therefore, some people believe that schools are no longer essential. Personally, I strongly disagree with this notion since schools provide a superior setting for learning compared to the online approach of studying at home.
Firstly, children’s focus and discipline will be maintained well by schools. It could be challenging for a child to experiment and opt for the accurate resources to acquire amid the abundant information available. With their hyperactive ages, children, for instance, may divert their attention toward enjoyable and fascinating things such as video games, cartoons,... when they are unable to discover the appropriate knowledge. Additionally, parents face difficulties keeping track of their kids due to the distractions directly impacting kids at home. As a result, studying at schools under the immediate supervision of teachers will enhance children’s concentration and discipline.
Secondly, schools create a solid competitive environment to assist children in identifying and growing their abilities comprehensively. As I see it, when children go to school, they usually strive for high grades or rankings, so that they can easily understand their strengths and weaknesses. On the other hand, children tend to form relationships and learn a lot from friends. These peers always provide straightforward and simpler explanations, contrary to the complex and highly specialized solutions found from the internet.
In conclusion, despite the myriad merits of the internet in homeschooling, I am convinced that schools are still crucial to help children maintain focus, discipline and develop themselves in a healthy competitive place.
