Many people argue that people should be judged based on their wealth and status in the modern world. But it is inaccurate to say that old-fashioned values like honour, kindness, and trust are meaningless. Personally, I partly disagree with this point, as below are some reasons to support my view.
On the one hand, it is not entirely correct to claim that traditional values like honor, kindness, and trust are completely insignificant. These values are still highly regarded in many societies and are considered essential for personal and societal well-being. As a Vietnamese person, I can attest to the importance of these values in my culture, the COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted the importance of kindness and compassion towards others. People around the country have come together to support one another in times of crisis, demonstrating that these values are still deeply ingrained in our societies. To sum up, social status does not necessarily reflect a person’s personal worth or character in difficult times. Morals and values play an important role in our life.
On the other hand, social status and material possessions are a little bit the only factors that determine a person's worth, there are some potential benefits associated with having these things. Firstly, having a higher social status can bring a number of advantages as well as increased opportunities for yourself. Remember that like attracts like, so people with higher social status not only will have networking well but also will respect and admire other people rather than their personality. Secondly, the pursuit of social status and material possessions can motivate individuals to work hard and strive for success. This can lead to personal growth and accomplishment, as well as contribute to the economy by driving consumption and innovation.
In conclusion, it is important to remember that social status and material possessions do not define a person's worth. So, I disagree with this statement. However, we should consider different aspects of a person in order to appreciate their personal worth.
