News stories on TV and in newspapers are very often accompanied by pictures

It is widely accepted in television and newspaper medium that pictures provide more details than words. Due to this most of the news stories are accompanying with images. Several people believe that pictures are more efficient in conveying the context than words. I strongly agree on this statement, in this essay I will support the argument with valid examples.

First and foremost, there are people who reads newspaper because of pictures. More than words, they are highlighter or attention seeker to get the focus from the readers. Furthermore, even illiterate people can understand the news or message by seeing the pictures which give plethora of information. Secondly, news channels prefer to describe the news stories using pictures, because to compete with their business rivals. Additionally, to increase more subscribers and viewers. To prove that, well-known magazine conducted several surveys to understand the readers/viewers preferences and the result shows that 70% of young and old person purchase magazines if they like the front cover picture.

On the other side, some people completely disagree with the current news format. According to them certain news show and articles often come with inappropriate pictures which might influence young generations. Children are more vulnerable and easily can affect by the negative contents. Government should come up with censor board for TV channels and newspaper to restrict contents and pictures. This will protect the young students from impacts of unsuitable pictures.

To conclude, pictures offers detail information also helps to improve the media business. At the same time with help of government regulation prohibiting few pictures will increase the newspaper and TV followers.
