TPO 43 : Imagine that you are in a classroom or a meeting. The teacher or the meeting leader says something incorrect. In your opinion, which of the following is the best thing to do?

— Interrupt and correct the mistake right away.

— Wait until the class or meeting is over and the people are gone, and then talk to the teacher or meeting leader.

— Say nothing

All of us have experienced that during a meeting an instructor or lecturer says something incorrect. Different people have a different reaction in these situations. some are indifferent about it, but others try to correct it and give notice the lecturer about his/her mistake during or after the meeting or class. In such situations, I prefer to talk about it in person after the class at the instructor's office. There are some reasons that support my idea regarding this issue and in the following paragraph, I will elaborate on my point of view.

One of the most important points to be mentioned is that for every individual it is important to maintain his/her dignity and they have a particular sensitivity about this issue. For instance, some students directly mention the teacher's mistakes during the class. They do this on purpose in order to cast doubt on the teacher's knowledge. It is not a polite way and sometimes makes the teacher or speaker embarrassed. most of the teacher find it a rude an offensive behavior and it leads to having a negative mindset about that student. In some case, it will cause that teacher to hold a biased viewpoint about that student's performance which may have negative impacts on the student's grades. Hence, I believe it is better to behave in a wise manner and politely talk about the mistake with the instructor in an appropriate time after the class.

Secondly, interrupting the teacher and mentioning his/her mistakes would take the time of the class and consequently, the teacher would not be able to finish the topic in due time or thoroughly clarify the topic for students, hence, it would decrease the teaching quality.

As a personal experience, when I was a high school student, one of my classmates used to notice every minor mistake say it out loudly. It was irritating and bothersome as it would always distract other student attention and usually, the teacher could not finish the topic on a session.

In conclusion, it is advisable to talk about such mistakes after the meeting or class in order not to embarrass the lecturer in front of other audience and also do not waste the allocated time hence, the lecturer could be able to clarify all of the outlines.
