Recently has been a debate about the challenges face the human trips to Mars. The writer thinks that, so difficult without facing a array of problems, but the professor contradicts these challenges and provides solutions for these defficulties.
Firstly, the writer states that, th trip to Mars so long and will take about two years for one round trip. The crew will need a huge amount of food, oxygen and water. Besides the cargo vehicle is limited , and hence will be imposible for the trip whithout these supplies. The professor defeats this points of argument. She said that Astronuts can use Hydroponics which is a technique that allow to grow plants in water than using soil. Also, she says that gworing crops will onlyneed a little space in the ship, in addition to that, plants will recycle the waste water and the vapour can be used as a clean water. In addition to that plants will use the carbon dioxide and produce oxygen so the crews can breathe.
Secondly, The article states that, the astronauts will spend few months in zero gravity, and hence will weaken their muscles and losing their bone denisty. The tutor refutes this point. She claims that, the last two decades the astronuts launched many space ships orbiting the earth and they live in zero gravity also. They learn many techniques to overcome this problem by doing many excercises. In addition to that, they use minerals, vitamins and calcium which help them to slow down their bone denisty.
Finally, the author argues about the trip to Mars will be subjected to dangerous level of radiations which emits from the sun. the space ship needs electromagnetic shield to protect them and thus will add more wieght makes it impossible. The mentor contradicts the idea. She states that, the ship will be exposed to sun radiation for a peroid of time not all the time. She elaborates more by saying that, the spacecraft could be supplied by some devices that help to detect the emitted radiations. On the same time the astronauts can use shilled to protect them during the radiation time, these shiled will not add any extra weight.
Conclusion, the article and lecture are both about the chanllenges oh human trip to Mars. Both of them contradict the points of each other providing reasons and examples supporting their idea.
