The reading and the listening are both about the advantages and the disadvantages of the using the electronic medical information. The author in the reading thinks that there are three advantages of the using of the electronic medical data. On the other hand, the professor of the listening part contradicts that.
The tutor in the reading states that the use of the electronic medical record can save a lot of money.
He states that the patient record needs a lot of money in transporting faxing. The professor in the listening part defeats this point. He argues that The doctors who use the electronic record databases are unlikely to save money. He explains that the doctor still keeps his documents and the patient record in paper form .he keeps the chart for back up for different legal purposes, in addition to that it contains the original signature.H e elaborates also by saying that he still needs to pay for the paper storage.
Secondly, the reading claims another advantage of using the electronic record is reducing the medical errors. On the other hand, the speaker contradicts this claim. He states that the adoption of electronic records cannot decrease the human errors. He elaborates this idea by saying that, Doctors are still using pen and papers to write down their notes. Furthermore, also he manual write his prescription. He explains more when he says the staff is the one who interprets these note form paper form to electric from also subjects to human errors.
Finally, the reading argues that the adoption of the medical electronic records can also help the doctors in their researches, as they will have electronic access to any records. The listening totally disagrees with that point. He posits that so hard to access to any medical record of any patients especially here in the USA. The patient information is highly restricted, consequently, doctors could not access to any information. He states that it needs patient authorization and many permissions, in addition to that some patients blocked their records even their medical drugs which they use.
Inclusion, the reading, and the listening are both about the adoption of the medical information electronically.both contradict each other by providing their own point of view.
