TPO INTEGRATED ELEPHANTS BEHAVIORS 51

In this set of materials, the reading passage mainly discusses about elephants strange life and mentions some points about it such as their death, paint drawing, and scaring from mice, While in the listening passage the professor casts doubt on what presented in the text. First of all, in the reading passage, it is clearly stated that elephants can recognize their death which impel them to live alone during last days of their life near the water. However, the professor believes that this is not true. She claims that this behavior has a logical cause that is difficulty in eating and they prefer to use soft vegetables which are found near water. In addition, the professor disagrees with this idea that elephants can draw a picture without any train from people. She points out that elephants can get this ability from people who teach them with special ways such as making connection which their ears and elephants memorize some simple things shapes like flowers or other animals. Finally, although in the text is mentioned that elephants always scare from mice, the professor subscribes to the view that this behavior is occurred because they are not familiar with mice in their environment. She brings an example about this frightening which is about elephants in the zoo that they do not scare from mice because they are be in touch with them and for this reason they can recognize mice are not dangerous.
