The passage provides certain advantages about being a group member and brings special reasons for each of them. On the other hand, the lecture illustrates some disadvantages of team work projects that can not be overlooked easily.
First, although the team work brings wider range of knowledge, experiences, and skills, the professor gives an example about a project that was performed at a company which was very time consuming. The group member did not have contribution and they could not reach to consensus because of different attitudes that they had. The project did not move quickly and reaching to goals was very time consuming and costly.
Second, the passage mentions that someone who works at the team can deliver their idea and be sure that their coworkers support their creativity. While, in fact, coworkers ignore each other easily without attention to the importance of the idea. This point is presented by the lecture because many project failed in the company by this reason.
Third, someone who does not like the ideas of the other member’s group never work on the idea which will eventually lead to forgetting a creative idea in the group even the idea is very special and significant.
In conclusion, working at the group has certain disadvantages that can not be ignored easily. Based on what is said at the lecture, teamwork project is very time consuming process and reaching to special approach needs lots of time. Moreover, it is more likely that some creative ideas are being ignored because of respecting to the comments of other members of group.
