assembles a group of people into a team
The reading passage state that assembles a group of people into a team has several advantages. However, the professor in the lecture casts doubt on the points made in reading.
First, the article considers a wider range of knowledge and expertise of members in the team, with this advantage the group can work more quickly in response to the tasks. In contrast, the professor contradicts the idea and further explains based on research on some teams and finding that in that situation some of the member free ride in the group and didn't contribute in their tasks, also the management in the team is so hard and consequently every time there is a delay during the tasks.
Second, the reading claims that team members are quick in assemble and performing the project. Admittedly the professor justified the information presented in the article and makes the point that in team working you must spend must of the time building agreement between members in the conversations and learn them how to run the project.
Third, the author in the reading puts forward the idea that an individual team member has a much better chance to shine. In the same way, the speaker validates the idea and adds that this advantage may be made a problem with ignoring some members in the team and its not so pleasant for the team's members.
