Assignments are indispensable on our part for children as they grow up; it has become a routine---- students do the work, and teachers correct the position. Some people believe that the assignments should be restrained, while others support the opposite opinion. Toward such a rag-of-war, in fact, it is not so easy to solve this question.
Let’s first talk about the statement. The statement itself has many problems. A student must have many subjects. Therefore, it means they have tons of homework. Thirty minutes is way too less. It takes 10 minutes for one assignment; an efficient child may accomplish the work, but a slow child may take a long time to finish it. Everyone needs a different amount of time to do their assignments. How will the teacher know that it will take 30 minutes for every student to accomplish the work? The teacher can’t give an accurate time. In addition, if students already have enough instructions during the day, why will they still need after-school work? What is that for? As we all can see, the statement doesn’t make sense.
Of course, pupils may complain that they hate homework! Because homework has already become a daily part of their lives, they don’t realize those schoolwork profits students. Homework’s function is evaluation, and its meaning is review. After doing the schoolwork, teachers can understand what their pupils can absorb and what they can’t. Thus, it is like a preparation for tests. Tests like final exams are likely to include all the knowledge students learn in the semester; typically, schoolchildren are likely to forget the things they know, and reviewing can help. In addition, students can achieve confidence when doing homework. Also, pupils will learn learn to respect jobs in the future.
However, opponents may contradict that limiting assignments can free children after finishing the work. They can enjoy their free time. If they continue to sit in the classroom, it will undoubtedly harm children’s physical health. Being healthy is more essential than high grades. Yes, I admit it is correct. But now, a student’s responsibility is to study. Pupils can relax after doing all the things they should do. So as you all can see, we can balance leisure and work. Plus, we can promote working efficiency.
To conclude, we can all see that there may be benefits to controlling the number of assignments and giving more than 30 minutes of schoolwork. If we can combine them, it will be perfect, but it seems to be impossible. Students may turn their attitude toward homework.
