cell phone while driving
The reading passage argues that cell phones are a major cause of car accidents. The speaker, on the other hand, believes there are other prominent factors for accidents and cell phones are of great help sometimes.
The author explains that using a cell phone while driving is a leading distracting factor which can result in accidents. consequently, different laws have been set to prohibit drivers from using cell phones in order to improve safety.
The lecturer, however, argues that cell phones can be of great benefit for drivers. she claims that based on an experiment, other factors, such as eating food, talking to passengers, putting makeups, and using the navigation system are more distracting and more probably will lead to an accident. furthermore, she discusses that cell phones are a vital tool to inform problems on the road, emergencies, etc. So, drivers can call for help any time.
