Dinosaurs

Dinosaurs

There are lots of kinds of animals there in the world, and most of the animals are endotherms. However, there is a very arguable animal that we doesn’t know whether it is an endotherm which is called dinosaur. The passage shows three points to show that dinosaurs are endotherms, but the professor disagrees with the passage.

First of all, the professor thinks that the position of the fossil of the dinosaurs can’t prove they are endotherms. In the time which dinosaurs live, those regions are much warmer than today, and it is fit for not endotherms to live. And when the polar region is cold, they may migrate to a warmer place or hibernate.

Secondly, the professor thinks the position of the leg can’t prove the dinosaurs are endotherms too. The structure of the dinosaurs not only means that they are endotherms but there is also another explanation, which is t support more weight. And this can benefit the dinosaurs, it can help dinosaurs to grow larger. So this can’t prove that dinosaurs are endotherms.

Thirdly, the professor shows that dinosaurs contain Haversian canals which the endotherms contain still can’t prove they are endotherms. Although they contain the Haversian canal, they still have growth rings. The growth ring is the thickening of the bones during the periods in which they stop rapidly growing. This can prove dinosaurs stop growing rapidly during the polar period.
