First, the author states, humpback whales brain have high dgree of compexity and have ability to use a system of sensory stimuli like sky for orintation. This point challenged by lecturer. He mentions that there is no connection between the inteligent dgree of animals and using or stars as navigation. He gives example, ducks have low dgree of inteligent and can use the sky as orintation.
Second, The autrhor claims, humpback whales migratew in straight line. He mentions that, animals can keep straight movement by orient themseleves by external objects or force. Because of hampback whales live in open ocean, they cauld rely on stars to provide them sign to maintain straight direction. The professor rebutted this argument. He poists, the straight line movement of hampback whales has a different explanation rather than use stars as nivigation. He says, it is due to magnatic field that whales have in their body which direct them in straight line.
