Penguins facts and changes
Emperor penguins are very unique species. according to passage they have specific social abilities and they are no endangered species. Lecture contradicts passage by saying that this is true according to situations of past but today new data negates the ponts made by author. To prove his own opinion speaker has given relevent point and examples.
Firstly, he points out that as per passage, penguins are monogamous and by using vocal typical frequency calling method, they call and identify their mate at breeding ground. However according to speaker Its true that they are monogamous and in reality they are serial monogamous for every breeding season. if they fail to locate their previous mate they choose another female. Additionally here are very less chances of finding same female for next mating season. chances are only 15%.
Secondly, he denies that validity of point made by author with regards to breeding ground. penguins choose same path every season to reach same rookery-the breeding ground. this will increase the number of penguins. males reach at breeding ground before females. this is quiet contrary. Research done by University of Mynisoda showed that 6 varies example are their where new rookery was choosed by them. Furthermore, they relocated colony.
Thirdly, speaker opposes author by saying that changed climatic conditions made them endangered species. if precautions weren’t taken then there are chances of 1/3 population decrease at the end of century.
Hence in conclusion, speaker lucidly negates the point with cogency. according to him, over time true facts were replaced by new one due to change in conditions.
