people learn better from same age people or from seniors
Every one has different learning and understanding capacity. Some can learn early while some take little longer, and sometimes it depends who is explaining. Some students prefer to learn from their fellow students or co worker. While some prefer to learn from their seniors such as teachers or supervisors. In my experience I always learnt better from my co-worker and will prefer to learn from fellow students. There are several reasons to hold this opinion and are stated in below paragraphs.
To begin with, people of same age are very familiar with each other. They know each other so well, and understand the way how the students can understand somethings. We spend a lot of time with our fellow students so they know our strengthened and weakened point. By looking all these advantage, people prefer to learn from batch mates. For instance, when I was in school, it was very difficult for me to understand professor lecture. Firstly, because she has very rough language, and not only me our most of the class finds it difficult to understand her. So, one day she was explaining heart circulation system and next day ask us that she will take a test and that was just like other moment. Everyone get scared and then we ask topper whether she could explain us, and she was so cool with this. First thing she did, she made a two group, one who has biology in earlier classes and second, who are freshers. Further, she explained with the heart diagram and used 3D images for better understanding and those who have biology she elucidated every detail and explain. For those who were fresher, she started explaining with basic details and them help them to understand every detail, and for them she explained this topic in breaks for better learning. On the next day because of her, most students scored good marks and thanked her. So, here we can see that how differently fellow students explained the same topic instead professor was just reading out the notes. She was able to that because she knows every student personally, so was not possible for professor.
To move on the another reason to hold this opinion is we are very comfortable to ask questions from our age people. I believe better learning is achieved by asking more questions and clearing our perplex thought about topic. We sometimes hesitates to ask question from the professor because of fear of getting scolded and we have some fear that professor may insult in front of class for asking minor questions. However, we don't feel the same stress with our classmates. For example, when I was doing my internship in physiotherapy, We have very strict system and our professor always takes class and next day asks us to explain them. He was very senior and for me understanding his lecture become so difficult as I was from different college and other students were from same college. The professor has habit of using abbreviation for every exercise name and concluding name become difficult for me, also I was scared to ask because I knew that would be something very simple its just I am new this is happening. So, I asked one student about all these, then she explained me every abbreviation professor uses. Here I ask the student without any reluctant because I knew that she would help me and understand me but the professor who takes long hour of lecture don't have time to explain me very minor details.
To put it in the nutshell, I believe people learn better from those of same age because of same level of thinking, same understanding and better comfort.
