Summarise the points made in the lecture, being sure to explain how they challenge the specific points made reading passage.
The lecture and the reading are both about possibility that dinosaurs were endotherms. the author of the passage believes that these are several documents that reveals dinosaurs were endotherms. The lecturer challenges this statement made by the author. She is of the opinion that all of these explanations cannot prove that dinosaurs were endotherms.
First of all, the author suggests that dinosaurs fossils have been found in Polar Regions. It is mentioned that only endotherms animals could be active in such cold environments. This atgument is challenged by the lecturer. She says that at that time the climate of Polar Regions were so much warmer. Furthermore, she mentions that dinosaurs could migrate in the colder period of time.
Secondly, the writer contends that the position of the legs of dinosaurs allowed them to run. The article notes that this strongly shows that dinosaurs were endotherms just like all modern endotherms that their legs are positioned under their body. The lecturer, however, refutes this by asserting that the position of the legs just does not mean that that they were endotherms, but it explains that their legs could support more weight. He elaborates on this by mentioning that dinosaurs could take advantage of their large size in different ways.
Finally, it is stated in the article that the fossils of dinosaurs show that they had structures named Haversian canals. The author establishes these findings demonstrat that dinosaurs were endotherms. The lecturer, on the other hand, posits that fossils of dinosaurs have revealed that they had growth rins. He puts forth the idea that these structures did not allow them to grow rapidly during cold period of time that in one of the characteristics of exotherm animals.
