Summarize the points made in the lecture, being sure to explain how they cast doubt on the specific theories mentioned in the reading passage
The reading and the lecture offer two opposing views on the solutions for preventing the extinction of Rhinos. Whereas the author of the reading suggests that with many proposed procedures, Rhinos could be survived, the lecturer states that these solutions are not acceptably strong. She casts doubt on the main points made in the text by providing the three reasons.
First, according to the text, dehorning Rhinos is a great way to discourage the poachers for hunting Rinos. However, the lecturer disputs that dehorning requires consumim time and money progress such as finding Rhinos, making them ready for medical surgery, and so forth. Also, she says that Rhinos use their horns for digging water and protecting their youth and realms and it is necessary for them to have their horns.
Secondly, the reading claims that by educating consumers about their wrong opinion around the health benefits of the horns, they might stop buying horns. Although, the lecturer implies that some people believe that horns have many benefits for their health and their belief is from very old time ago, which is truely hard to affect on it by educations.
Finally, the other solution base on the text is that government legally sale the stored horns to affect the horn market and reduce its price. While, the lecturer states that by this proposal, more people will encourage to buy horns because they might think it is acceptable to purchase horns. Moreover, the lecturer asserts that the consequent of the government's horn market is that poachers also have more willing to hunt and sale horns for making more profit.
To recap, the lecturer challenges the three solutions mentioned in the text by explaning about their weaknesses.
