Summarize the points made in the lecture, being sure to explain how they cast doubt on the specific points made in the reading passage

The reading and lecture are both about the invasive species that are causing issues in ecosystem. The author of the writing states one of the those species called aquatic zebra are elevating since there are no any solution for it’s control. The lecturer disagrees. He mentions although there is an increment in mussel population there are ways to prevent it and attacks each of the points made in the article.
Firstly, the begins by stating that mussel are connect to the bottom of the sea so that they have a easy travel. In addition, they sticks in water pipe resulting clogging them which create difficulty in serving water to a large public. Similarly, the maintenance cost is high so preventive measures are required to implement so as to control the population. The professor believes there are flaws in the writer’s position. He contends that even though the population is soaring, this can be restrain by steralizing the sea water so that they could not further flourish to a great extent.
Secondly, according to the writing mussel have a less number of enemy which aid in it’s thriving population. Furthermore, even scientists have not yet succeed in discovering the measures to kill the mussel species. Therefore, if they are not controlled in time then it will have a detrimental repercussion in near future. The professor rebuts this argument. He puts forth the idea that there are some species of birds and fish that eat mussel. This way mussel population can be controlled. However, it is crucial to generate various ways in order to prevent these species.
As we can see, the author and lecturer holds quiet distinct views on the ways to prevent the expansion of mussel population. The speaker effectively challenges the writer’s argument.
