summarize the points made in the lecture, being sure to explain how they cast doubt on specific points made in the reading passage.
According to the passage, there are three theories about the lives of agnostids. The lecture, however, doubts these three theories and thinks that there are serious weaknesses in these theories.
First, the passage explains that the agnostids were hunters and prayed the smaller animals. This idea is refuted by the lecture, which claims that animals in open oceans that are predators have usually large eyes. These large eyes help the animals to see the pray clearly. The agnostids were blind, therefore, they needed a specific ability for detecting the pray and there is no evidence to show the existence of this ability.
Second, the passage thinks that it is possible that agnostids have lived on the seafloor. The lecture, in contrast, disagrees with this belief, suggesting that animals that live on the sea surface are not able to move very fast and very far. Hence, we cannot find them anywhere else. Because the agnostids have been found in multiple areas, it shows that they could move fast and large distance.
Third, the author of the passage writes that the agnostids may be parasites. The lecture, on the contrary, states that the population of parasites are not large. There are vast amounts of agnostids' fossils. It indicates that the population of them were large and they were not parasites.
