the main question in both passage and lecture is how agnostids lived before their extinction, their fossils did not make it possible for paleontologists to discover how exactly they have lived but the author of passage collect some different theories about how they may have lived, on the other hand, the lecturer opposed against all of these theories.
first, according to the passage, the agnostides may have been free-swimming hunters just like the other types of privimitve arthropods. In contrast, the lecturer acclaims that for being a hunter an organism should have large well developed eyes to have a great vision or having other high sensitive senses but agnostides were blind and did not have any other high-level senses.
secondly, the author asserts that maybe agnostides dwelled on the seafloor and feeded from dead organism or bacterias.however, the lecturer believes that organisms who do seafloor dwelling do not have to move fast or far and they can not go to other areas, so all of them should lived near to each other in the same place, but many of agnostids have lived in multiple geographic areas so they were moving fast and easily through long distances.
finally, the author posits that the agnostids may were parasites who lived in part of arthropods bodies and feed on them , but lecturer said if there were many of agnostids, they would destroy the environment but there were lots of them and the great size of them prevent us from this theory
