While the text explains and gives reasons that sending people to live in an asteroid would be the best colonization ever, the lecturer highly disagrees and also gives his opinion to make known that there are reasons to not accept this topic.
First, the text argues that thanks to the low gravity, the landing can have less risks, in other words, can be safer. At the same time, it states that they can bring more equipment with less effort. However, when these explanations may sound very tempting, the lecturer points out that to have a low gravity has its positive things but is not healthy at all. He explains that this context damages the bones and even can produce a loss of muscle density.
Second, the reading claims that valuable metals found there can be taken from the asteroid and sent back to Earth. In this case, the speaker says that this argument is not the whole picture. Transporting metals from the space will increase the initial profit. On the other hand, if the supply prices grow, the lower will be the market prices, and obviously won't be profitable.
Third, the author says, asteroids are more easy to reach and therefore are a better choice. Moreover, the speaker claims this is not a hundred percent true, it is not easy to return from. Some of the asteroids don't have a unique place to stay. They don't stay close to Earth all the time, they use to move. There are cases when the asteroid can be further away, so the returning won't be something easy but what he affirms is that it will be a whole challenge.
