In this set of material, the author and the professor discuss the effect of four-day work employees on the employees themselves and the company.The reading passage proposes some ways that cause benefits to both the employees and the company, While the listening passage repudiates what stated in the article and provides three counterclaims proofing that all those causes are not convincing.

First, the speaker thinks that four-day working would not provide any profit to the company,since the company has to pay extra money for training new hired employees,also pay more money for their health benefits plus adding additional space for their workers which contradicts what the author claims about how four days working will create additional job with the same payroll and increase the profit of the company.

Second,the professor believes that this way of working will not follow many jobs and since hiring as he mentioned above would be costly to the company;of course, the company would ask those employees to work extra hours on those four days working,and may prefer those who work five days and increase the risk for those four days workers of losing their jobs.Whereas, the reading passage has opposite view.

Third,the reading passage states that four days workers would have better individual employees with good quality of life,enjoying more time spending with their familes,While the professor thinks that the low income and risk of losing jobs to those part-time employees would create low quality of lives and less stability conditions.
