Therefore, this beetle is not the fundamental reason of the decline. In addition to that, the yellow cedar trees were located along an island where there were no bears, but they still declined from this island. Consequently, bears were not responsible for killing the tress because trees declined with and without the bears. One final point, yellow cedar tress declined more from the lower elevated where is warm than declining from the higher elevated where is cold. If the cold weather was the reason, so we expect the tress damaged more in the higher. That is mean the freezing weather is not the reason of killing the trees.
