The reading and the listening is both about the fossil of animal in which either the old fossil provides little opportunity of research or not. The author of the reading believes that the fossil of animal like dinosaur Asyrus leg provide the opportunity to research. The lecture cast doubts about this matter. He thinks that it is skeptical about the matter of dinosaur.
Firstly, The reading claims that there are holes in the leg of Asyrus fossil which indicates that there is a presence of blood vessel. Reading also believes that there is a presence of soft organic substances inside the channel. This point is challenged
in the lecture. He says that there is no blood cells, it is something else. He clarify the matter that bacteria are colonized which
makes the hole in the death fossil of dinosaur. The organic material of the bone is replaced by the bacteria. Furthermore he points out the hole is not really hole, it is just the residue of bacteria.
Secondly the reading states that there is a presence of spherical shape and also presence of Iron which is the main component of red blood cell. Alongside this author also says that the size of the Rbc is same as the fossil contains.
The lecture rebut this argument. He suggest that the primitive animal does not contain any RBC (red blood cell).
Furthermore he argues that the shape of the RBC we think is not correct, it is the shape of reddish marrow.
Thirdly the author of reading opinion is that there is a presence of collagen. Chemical constituent of the collagen that is found in the fossil. But the lecture go against that. He says that collagen does not last longer and it only survives 1000 years.
So, how can it possible to survive 7 million years. In addition he says that the collagen constituent that is found is come from
the people who are involved in the research and it is the skin of them accidentally dropped down to the study subject.
