The article states that Edmontosaurus, a kind of dinosaur, could be survived during the dark winter by migration, and it provides three reasons for support. The professor explains that there was no need for Edmontosaurus to migration to survival, and she refuses all three reasons of reading one by one.
First, the reading states that Edmontosaurus were vegetarian. Since there were no plants in cold periods, they were forced to migrate to a warmer location where had a suitable situation for plant grow. The professor opposes this point by saying that in that time the weather was much warmer to prevent growing plants. In addition, she mentions that Edmontosaurus could eat died plants that were grown in warm time in their homeland.
Second, the text claims that Edmontosaurus lived in herds. That means they migrated together like caribou and buffalo. On the contrary, the professor says that many species of animals are living in a herd, but it does not mean that they migrate every season. They might live together to protect themselves from predators.
Third, the article states that Edmontosaurus were capable fo migration long distance, so it was possible for them to migrate from north to south. In contrast, the professor mentions that junior Edmontosaurus could not travel for a long time, and it was not possible for adults one to abandon them. In conclusion, they could not migrate long distance.
