TPO 33: Carved stone balls

The reading claims that the elaborate carving suggests that stones may have marked the important social status of their owners.and provide three supporting reasons.
However the professor says the stones are non very important and refutes each claim in the reading.
First the reading states that the stones were weapons used in hunting or fighting conversely the professor argues that those stones show signs of ware if used as weapons and they will be crack or some parts will break off the weapons should disappear any signs of damage.

Second the reading claims that were used as part of aprimitive system of weights and measures.but the professor contests this he says that their Masses not use as uniform uses , they have different density two balls of same size have different weight.

Third the reading states that they are used for social purpose as apposed to practical or utilitarian one this view is supported by the fact that maney stone balls have elaborate designs but, the lecture says that no marker for two reasons first ball carved in different pattern some are complex other are simple, and no presence of them in caves.
