In this set of material, the reading section mainly explains three theories to reject the living of human on the Mars or the Moon surface, while the listening section casts doubt on the information presented in the passages and gives several reasons to support his idea.
First of all, the passage posits that because of the extreme amount of pressure on their surface, living for human is impossible. In contrary, the professor claims that the pressure is not as high as the reading section mentions that would not be solved. This pressure on that planet is known physical phenomena. In fact, the level of the pressure on their surface is reasonable and normal. Thus, there is no danger for human beings living on them.
In addition, the speaker disagrees with the idea that there is not any source for getting water and oxygen on them. She believes that presence of carbon dioxid and sulfuric acid on their surface is the clue for existing of materials which lead to the water and oxygen. In other words, she adds that since water and oxygen are necessary for life of human, these materials are adequate and reasonable source for getting water from them, and there is no need for importing water from earth.
Finally, although the reading section states that thick clouds on the atmosphere of that plant could prevent the life there, the professor subscribes the view that the clouds on the Marc and the Moon are not as thick as make problem for tapering the sunlight. She argues that the amount of sunlight on the atmosphere is enough for living the human beings. She mentioned that utilizing of solar power plant would be a good idea for gathering the sunlight on the surface and the atmosphere, in a way, the plant power could reflect the sunlight toward below to the surface of Mars, before it would be reflected to the outside.
