Based on given materials, the article as well as lecture discusses the possibility of maintenance a permanent human presence on Venus. The author states that the main problem of presence of humans on Venus. That being said, the lecturer provide a solution which is to establish a station above of Venus' surface to repudiate this claim.
Initially, the author says that atmospheric pressure at Venus is at least 90 times greater than the pressure at Earth's surface. However, the lecturer explain that in the station above Venus, the pressure is equal to Earth's atmospheric pressure. Based on the theory which said by increasing the height, the atmospheric pressure would be decrease. Thus, the first problem is solved by this way.
Second, the writer proclaims that there no reservoirs of water and oxygen on Venus' surface. Yet again, the speaker underscores that problem by a solution. He illustrates that in the station above Venus people could use chemical process to turn carbon dioxide and sulfuric acid into water and oxygen. Consequently, chemical process solves the problem.
The final contention between reading and listening passages is How to reach the sunlight in Venus. The author thinks very little sunlight reaches the planet's surface. On the other hand, the speaker explains that the clouds above the station are not very thick. They could use reflection of the clouds to reach sunlight in the station. In addition, they can save the sunlight to make electricity. As a result, reach the sunlight seems functional at above the Venus' surface.
