The author in the reading describes three solutions that can be used to prevent the extinction of frog species from the nature. The speaker says that solutions do not seem to be practical and she also represents the points to support her claim.
First, to restrict the farmers to use pesticide in the farmland is not the ultimate solution. Farmers use pesticides in order to grow more food crops; preventing them from using pesticides might cause them to undergo sufferings as they get fewer crops in this case. Additionally, it makes harder for them to be a good competitor in the market.
Second, another solution is to use antifungal to resist the attack of fungus which is responsible to skin dehydration of the frog. On the other hand, the lecture states that it will be a arduous process to individually treat all frogs by antifungal. She also mentions that this whole process will be too high-priced and difficult.
Third, the writer claims that reduction of the use and development of water from lakes or wetlands also lessen the decline of frog habitat and ultimately frog species. However, the professor accuses the rapid global warming, which is the main culprit for the reduction of watery area which is the natural habitat of frog species.
