In this set of material, both of the reading and the lecture discuss about the reduction of reading book in the society. The reading provides three disadvantages of this issue; however the professor refuses all of them. Information the professor expresses contradicts the fact outlined in the reading passage.
First, the author of reading declares that the books not only help people to improve the understanding of language, but also they optimize people's imagination; however the professor ignores this suggestion and he believes that today's the books are lack of high quality. The books do not include creative issues, they just stimulate imagination; consequently the readers are reluctant to read them.
Secondly, the text claims that the media -as TV, Radio and satellite and so on- is playing an important role in this occurrence. As a result the level of culture in community will be dwindled; however the lecture contends that the culture is not obtained only by reading book. Nowadays as culture is being changing, it can be shown in diverse forms like media. The professor believes that listening to brilliant music or watching a perfect movie can increase the level of culture in public.
Moreover, the reading proposes that there are a lot of talent writers in community that unfortunately due to not being enough readers, the publishers are not willing to invest on them, however the lecture expresses that only people are not blamable in this reduction of consideration to the literature and the book, but the writers usually use difficult methods for their writing and people hardly understand their books, for those reasons they prefer to gain information from other approaches.
