In set of material, the reading passage states that the United States should store medical records in electronic databases instead of paper, then the reading provides three advantages from this method and support them, however the lecture find all reasons uncertain and proposes some evidence to refute these arguments. In fact the information the professor provides contradicts the fact outlined in the reading.
First, the reading claims that using electronic databases for saving medical record can dwindle costs like transferring, copying, faxing and a lot of papers and so on, in contrast the lecture believes that after advent of electronic databases the doctors who are used to writing in paper, in beside electronic approach, will continue their old approach either, because they want to have background for themselves; hence any cost will not be reduced.
Second, the author of reading declares that electronic databases can prevent from creating mistakes as awkward handwriting or improper transcription and like that, on the contrary the professor argues that again the same doctors who are used to writing on paper, will store medical records in paper in work time, and their assistances will enter these records later; consequently the errors can get worst and even more.
Third, the reading contends that electronic databases are a great choice for researching and their researches, because access to paper records is often impossible and expensive, conversely the lecture expresses that access to electronic databases is privacy too and researchers need to spend a lot of time to pass from strict rules of United States' government, in fact it is a complex procedure. They have to obtain permission from doctors, and even they are forced to get permission from patients and sometimes the patients are not inclined to help them to any reasons.
