The bar chart illustrates the proportion of global population and how the fortune is distributed in term of region all over the world. The general overview here is that the majority of global wealth belongs to the minority of population.
To specify, the largest amount of population is occupied by China with 24%, which is greater than India and other Asia Pacific with the same rate of 16%. In addition, Europe ranks fourth with 15%, which exceeds as 1,5 times as the percentage of Africa. Whereas, Latin America & Caribbean, North America, Rich Asia-Pacific are three regions that have the smallest number of people.
On the contrary, the biggest percentage of global wealth is obtained by North America with 34%, followed by Europe and rich Asia-Pacific with 30% and 24% respectively. The opposite was true with the rest, for instance, Latin America & Caribbean accounts for the fourth largest part of only 4%. While China and other Asia Pacific have the same proportion of 3% in the fortune, India and Africa are only in charge of 1% each.
In conclusion, there is a bigger inequality in the distribution of the global fortune than the population.
