The bar charts illustrate the number of applicants in specifically girls in all levels of education from primary to tertiary. In these charts have categorised into developing countries and developed countries in 1990 and 2000.

The number of girls enrolled in education in all levels is higher in developed countries than developing countries. In addition, the number of applicants has increased from 1990 to 2000 regardless of whether these are from developing or developed countries.

In primary education, the developed countries demonstrate the number of enrolments in girls reached at 96 per 100 boys by 2000 whereas the developing countries only show 87 girls per 100 boys in 2000. Interestingly, the number of enrolments is increasing as the level of education is increasing in developed countries, but it is showing the opposite in developing countries.

In secondary education, the number of candidates is 72 and 82 for developing countries in 1990 and 2000 respectively. In comparison, the number of females enrolled in secondary education is shown as 98 and 99 for developed countries in 1990 and 2000 respectively.

The highest number of applicants is in tertiary education for developed countries where the female applicants are more than the male applicants. In 1990, the enrolments were 105 then it jumped to 112 in 2000 in developed countries. Also, for developing countries represents some increases of 9 applicants; from 66 to 75 within 10 years.
