Your car is hired from a company and while you are driving on holiday, you have a small accident. You will have to write a report to the company to explain it. Dear Sir/Madam,
You would please recall that I hired a ‘BMW Series 3’ car a week ago from your main head office at Princess Street, Edinburgh for my 5 days holiday trip to Inverness, Scotland. Unfortunately, I met with a minor accident when I drove the car around yesterday.
At first, I and my friend picked the car from your office after completing all formalities on a fine Monday morning. As you know, there was an unusual and unexpected extreme weather condition in the late evening. The snow were covered almost all parts of the roads in and around the city. Subsequently, I somehow managed to drive for 10 miles, but after that unexpectedly I hit our car on the truck which was waiting in front of our car for the signal. Though I applied brakes, the car tyres had no friction to stop due to heavy snow. In this minor accident, the two headlights of the car were broken. Fortunately, the truck was safe without any damage and the friendly truck driver advised us to take our car to nearest car repair center.
We then paid £150 and replaced both the headlights. I here enclosed the receipt for the repaired products. I hope you would inspect the car and make sure it was returned to you by us in existing good condition. I kindly request you to get back to me with your reply after inspecting the car.
