The table shows the percentage and data of dwelling types in Australia in 1994.
As can be seen, the most popular housing is separate houses with the average of 79% where Tasmania had the highest percentage at 85% but on town and terrace houses Tasmania was the lowest as Queensland did. Moreover, on separate houses, Queensland, Western Australia and Australian were similar in the range.
The next common type of dwelling is flats or apartments with Northern territory having the highest range at 25%. There were two similar percentage, that were, Victoria and Queensland (13%) and South Australia was the lowest with 12% on average. On terrace and town houses, the highest percentage was South Australia (16%), Queensland and Tasmania were at 5% with the average of 8%.
To conclude, in nine selected states, it is clear that separate house was the most popular type of dwelling in Australia in 1994 with Tasmania having the highest percentage (85%) with 79% on average and terrace or town houses were the least.
