1. Hey, Steve, I hear you
1. Hey, Steve, I hear you started a band.
2. Yeah, I play guitar and some friends and I got together to start making music.
3. We've been practicing a couple of months and I think we're ready to have a concert.
4. Great, are you gonna have the show soon?
5. Yeah, hopefully sometime in the next couple of weeks.
6. We're all pretty busy but I think we can squeeze in a show before summer starts and everyone goes away.
7. Cool!
8. Where's it gonna be?
9. We wanted to do it in the campus auditorium.
10. We play rock and roll.
11. It's kind of loud so it'd sound great in there.
12. Problem is the auditorium's already booked for the next few weekends.
13. So what are you gonna do?
14. Well, there are no weekends left before summer but there is an opening next Wednesday night, we could do the show then.
15. That could be good, I mean, concerts are usually on the weekends, but it'll be something fun for people to do in the middle of the week.
16. Yeah, that's true.
17. It's just that, well, there'll probably be a smaller audience on a Wednesday which might be kind of disappointing.
18. Well, yeah
19. But there is one other option.
20. We're friends with people in another band.
21. They're gonna be performing in the auditorium next Saturday.
22. And they actually said they'd be willing to let us perform with them.
23. Wow!
24. That's really nice of them.
25. Yeah, we'd play for a little while and then they'd play the rest of the night as scheduled.
26. Sounds good.
27. Yeah, only catch is we wouldn't have much time to perform so we wouldn't be able to do all the songs we've been preparing.
A sample Answer to this speaking in text:
The man and his friends started a band. They want to have a concert in the auditorium before summer. But the auditorium has been fully booked for the rest of the weekends. This is their problem. There are two solutions. The first one is to play on Wednesday night. But there will be a smaller audience and people may feel disappointed. The second solution is to play with their friends next Saturday. But they won’t have enough time to play all their songs. I recommend the first solution. Even if the audience will be smaller, at least they have enough time to perform all their songs. And smaller audience doesn’t necessarily mean disappointment. Sometimes people are more excited in a smaller but more intimate group.
