The given charts illustrate the percentage of students in five age groups who choose to study for career or for interest and the percentage of employer support that they were given.
Overall, it is evident that most young people study for their careers and they also received the biggest support from their employers. In contrast, a large amount of older people tend to study for interest and they have less support from employers for their study.
Four-fifth of students under 26 state their reason for study is for career. This number is more than four times higher than those over 49. On the other hand, only 10% of young learners go to school for interest. Meanwhile, almost three-third of the old students study for this reason.
Young learners also received the largest amount of support such as time off and help with fees from their employers. These numbers stood at 70% and 50% for students under 26 and from 26 to 29, respectively. Interestingly, less than a third of students at the age of 30-39 received support from employers.
